Isle of Man -- Owen Air Technical Services

I fix, improve and document the technical systems businesses, venues and trades rely on.

IT support, UniFi networking, Astro websites, venue AV, van power planning and the awkward jobs that cross all of those categories. Based on the Isle of Man. No scripts, no unnecessary replacement, no overcomplication.

What I can help with

Most technical problems do not fit neatly into one category. I work across IT, networking, websites, AV and power systems -- and I am most useful when the problem crosses between them.

Most systems are messier than they look

Bad venue sound might be speaker placement, gain structure, DSP routing, room shape and undocumented cabling all at once. A slow website might be structure, copy, contact flow and mobile performance together. Droppy Wi-Fi is rarely just the router.

I look at the whole system before recommending anything.

  • Find the actual cause, not just the nearest visible symptom
  • Fix what can be properly fixed
  • Stage improvements when budget or risk requires it
  • Leave systems clearer, safer and easier to maintain

Who I help

I work best with people who need practical technical help rather than jargon. You might know exactly what you need, or you might only know that something keeps going wrong. Either is fine.

  • Local businesses and small teams without internal IT
  • Bars, clubs, venues, DJs and event organisers
  • Trades and service businesses
  • Campervan and van-conversion owners
  • Home users with awkward technical problems
  • People who need someone practical rather than a script

Systems I work with

Some of the systems and equipment I regularly work around include the following. This is practical experience in real environments, not a claim of official partnership with every brand listed.

Common problems I solve

Wi-Fi works until the room fills up

I check access point placement, channel planning, interference, roaming, VLANs, bandwidth limits and backhaul so the network is more reliable when people actually use it.

Your website looks fine but does not bring enquiries

I improve structure, copy, calls to action, local SEO, loading speed, contact forms and trust signals so the site does a useful job.

Your sound system is loud but unclear

I review speaker placement, gain structure, DSP routing, crossover points, limiter settings and coverage so the system works with the room.

Your van power setup has grown messy

I help plan safe phased upgrades for lithium batteries, solar, inverters, DC-DC charging, monitoring and practical protection.

Nobody knows how the system is wired

I can trace, document and simplify messy setups so future changes are easier and less risky.

Your team wants AI help without the hype

I can set up practical AI workflows for documentation, support replies, process notes and internal admin with sensible data-safety boundaries.

Phased upgrades, not unnecessary spending

You do not always need to rip everything out and start again. A lot of systems can be improved in stages: fix the worst problem first, stabilise the basics, then plan sensible upgrades when budget allows. This approach works well for Isle of Man businesses, venues and campervan power planning.

  • Start with the biggest pain point
  • Reuse what is still good
  • Replace what is genuinely holding things back
  • Plan upgrades in a sensible order
  • Avoid wasting money on the wrong fix

You should know how your own system works

Poor handover is one of the most common reasons a technical problem comes back. Where it matters, I write simple notes so the next person -- or you -- is not starting from scratch.

  • Network notes and device lists
  • Cabling notes and basic diagrams
  • Password and secrets handling guidance
  • Website and deployment notes
  • Plain-English explanations and upgrade recommendations

Not sure what category it fits into?

That is fine. Most jobs do not arrive with a label. Describe what is happening -- what system, what the fault looks like, and how often -- and I will tell you what I think is going on and what the most sensible next step is.

Describe the problem

If it is technical and it needs sorting, get in touch

IT, UniFi networking, Astro websites, venue AV, campervan power, or the awkward job that does not fit one category. Isle of Man based. Practical, documented and honest about what needs doing.
